es, you get a one hour consultation with myself. The consultation is one of the most essential parts to making the photo shoot successful. It is a complimentary one hour meeting at a location of your choice such as your home, coffee shop, place of work or at my studio. There you get to meet me and observe my energetic and passionate personality. In turn, I get to meet the exited expecting new mother. There we discuss what to expect on the day of the shoot, your style, whether parents and siblings want to be in the photos, packages, & any themes you want to incorporate into the photo shoot. Each session is unique to each newborn and I strive to capture the baby in its true essence.
Consider a budget you want to invest in this once in a lifetime moment. At the consultation I will provide you with all the package options. I always suggest having guests of your baby shower to purchase gift certificates that go toward the session and print/packages for the new parents to be. That ways there is less out of your pocket. Plus it connects the family and friends with me, the photographer, so they can purchase prints on their own rather than you feeling obligated to purchase prints for everyone. Gifts certificates are available and will be customized with your name and date of the baby shower.
After the consultation, discuss the photo shoot with your partner. Get everyone in the family excited. Getting support and suggestions will help planning so much easier and a lot of fun.
A newborn should be photographed between 5 –14 days of birth. That is the most precious time where the baby is sleeping soundly and can curl up to those adorable poses. For newborns born early, I like to have the photo shoot within the first seven days of being sent home. I do not prefer photographing newborns prior to 5 days since they are still working on how to feed and can have a red complexion due to jaundice. Of course, I am sensitive to any situation and if the opportunity to photograph the baby falls outside of 14 days, we can still schedule the photo shoot but keeping in mind that there is no guarantee that you will get those sleepy shots. I have been successful in photographing babies much older than 14 days and have had created beautiful posed photos.
In addition to having the newborn photographed, you may consider having a few photos taken with a sibling or your and your partner. If that is decided on, then timing and outfits need to be coordinated.
For mommy, wear comfortable clothing and preferably pants. Sweat suits and leggings are ideal. Flat shoes are also a must and feel free to kick off your shoes at the studio. You will be holding the child and helping pose the baby so you will need to kneel on the floor and bend over.
Bring the baby in just a diaper and swaddle blanket. That way the baby will not be disturbed with the clothing change.
Feel free to bring any outfits or accessories you want your baby to be photographed with. Please let me know in advance on what you are brining so I can coordinate the props to match and backdrops.
I have the ability to customize crochet hats and outfits that are made upon request free of charge with enough notice. The crochet pieces become part of my inventory and you will get adorable photos of your newborn dressed in outfits that are meaningful to you. It is my goal to for you to LOVE your photos because each one will have a special meaning.
I always suggest keeping the baby up 1-2 hours prior to the shoot to tire them out. Feeding them right before the shoot before you arrive to the studio will them make them tired and ready to be a model. A full belly is a happy baby. Feeding the baby prior to the shoot will in most cases have the baby in a sleepy mood, perfect to position them to start the photo shoot.
If you bring a relative our spouse, I suggest that they have a meal before the photo shoot as well. That way they feel comfortable and patient with the amount of time being allocated to the session. I require that cell phones are turned off and speaking be made in a midtown level, as not to disturb the baby.
I suggest during daylight any time from 10:00a.m. until 6:30p.m. to allow full usage of natural daylight coming from the windows of the studio. I have a flexible schedule to accomodate your busy schedule. It also allows for flexibility to moves dates around in case the baby is not delivered at the expected due date or is not feeling well that day.
The average amount of time you should allocate to the photo shoot varies and depends on the package you choose. The options give enough time to take breaks for feeding, napping, cuddling…anything to keep the baby sated.
To be flexible with the baby’s schedule, I will only book your newborn photo session that day and no other photo shoots. The studio will be set at the ideal temperature for the baby and I have a small heater if needed. The studio will be set up and ready to for you. All the accessories and outfits discussed at the consultation will be in order to streamline the process.
The baby can nap, be fed and changed at any time during the photo shoot. We will work around the baby’s schedule and needs.
Please keep in mind that you will be participating in the photo shoot. Most of the traditional poses are actual composites of multiple photos with spotters and safeguards in place so the baby is always safe. You will also be holding the baby so I can capture those beautiful photos of hands around the baby. I will also ask you to hold them in a certain way to get the perfect posed shots. With that being said, you may want to make sure your nails are manicured and that you have any rings you want as part of the shot.
You will have a wonderful experience that you will always cherish.
I will be providing everything necessary props, backdrops, blankets, and outfits to compliment the session. There is no need to buy anything extra unless you have a particular items such as an heirloom or outfit you want the baby to be photographed in.
There are items you will need to bring to handle any situations that will arise for the baby. These items include:
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Milk/formula (this can be stored in my refrigerator)
- Any medication
- Change of clothing
- Other personal props or clothing you want the baby to be photographed with
- Stroller
- Any participating party to lend a hand or to be photographed with the baby
- Snacks for the adults
I will take over 100 photos in the session but will choose the best ones. That means I will not include any photos where the baby moved in a wrong position, moved their hand to their face, had a crying look, etc. You will get to see in the gallery a minimum of 25 photos. The number of photos to choose from will depend on how long the baby was available for the photo shoot, their disposition, etc.
All photos are printed out of state at a lab exclusive to professional photographers only. There printers use multimillion dollar machines to make the prints. In addition, the photos are printed in archival paper. They are night and day from printing at a drug store. I am very picky and I make every effort to deliver you photos that look breathtaking, showing off every detail in true colors.
Digital files are available in 300dpi and can be printed on your own as large as you desire.
In addition to prints and canvases, various types of albums are available that are designed by me with your approval of the layout. I have an amazing baby book printed in Italy that is completely custom to you. You choose the colors, pattern, ribbons, font etc. This is available a la carte or as part of one of my packages. Other gift items are also available.
Photos will be available online accessible with a unique password I send to you. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing. If you are need of a photo quickly for a birth announcement, I will do my best to process one photo for your announcement.
Babies are perfect little miracles. In many instances, however, babies are born with some temporary imperfections. These range from jaundice, little baby pimples, blister on lips, flay skin, jagged finger & toe nails. We want to remember them without these little temporary imperfections and it is my job to take them away in the photos. I will present the baby in all its glory without the minor distractions. In addition, a lot of editing is required to create those “how did they do that pose?” type photos. This includes the frog pose, baby suspended in the hammock and more. Also, many times your hands will be touching the baby to support those poses so your hands will have to be edited out. That is why newborn baby photography is one of the most time consuming to edit. As an artist, I take extra special care to pay attention to every detail.
All photos on the gallery will be enhanced. In addition to a full set of colored photos, I will also make a black and white version, sepia or other artistic look that I think would look beautiful in that style. Additional black and white enhancements to any specific photo will be done free of charge at your request.
Prints and digital files are available a la carte. Packages are also available and offer a minimum of 25% off the a la carte prices. There is no need to make a decision on what to purchase until you see the gallery. You have up to three months to place an order with the current prices set during the photos hoot. After three months, there is not guarantee the prices will remain the same due to increase in supplier costs.

Once you get decide on a date, I ask for a 50% deposit of the session fee to secure the date. The remainder must be paid the week of the photo shoot.
Being that I work 7 days a week, I will work my best to accommodate your schedule if the baby arrives early or later. Just call me as soon as you know so we can arrange for another date.
To some, newborn baby photography is a business. To me, it is my PASSION. I pay attention to the details and have the patience to wait for the perfect moment to capture the most breathtaking shot. I only shoot in RAW and process my own photos (I do not outsource my photos to be edited). I spend up to 30 minutes to an hour enhancing each photo. I also look for the top quality in printing and album making. That is why it is effortless to work 7 days a week to accommodate the schedule of the parents and the delivery date. I always strive to perfect my craft and study new techniques to make a style that is my own. I’m also always on the lookout for new unique props and stay up with new styles. For example, with the anticipation of the new Star Wars movie is coming out in the fall, I am making crochet hats of characters from the movie (yes, I’ve already had requests). My goal is to exceed your expectations while providing you artistic images to last a lifetime.
Safety it of the utmost importance to me. I put all my effort to make sure the newborn is in a safe and comfortable environment. I set the temperature in the studio to a conformable level without a draft. I do have white noise on hand to be played if the baby needs it. All props are disinfected after each use. The crochet outfits are all cleaned as well. If there are any special requests, PLEASE notify me ahead of time so I can accommodate you.
